will drive to an area between the medieval towns of Mussomeli and Cammarata
where we will visit a dairy farm. There you will watch while ricotta is
produced over the fire and experience the almost magical moment when milk becomes
cheese. Afterwards
you will have a chance to sample not only ricotta both in its pure state and sweetened
in stuffed cannoli pastries, but also an array of different types of local cheeses. While
in the area, we recommend a stop at Mussomeli to visit the 13th century
medieval castle that has been recently restored. |
